White Sox Announce Upcoming Homestand Events

The Chicago White Sox announce promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. the Angels and Rangers.

The Chicago White Sox announce promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. the Angels and Rangers.
Kicking off the homestand on Monday, April 18, the White Sox will welcome team members from the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, who will visit the #SoxSocial Lounge and throw out a ceremonial first pitch. They will be joined by the Copa America Centenario trophy. The oldest international continental soccer competition will take place outside of South America for the first time in 2016 with select matches taking place in Chicago this June.
Later on in the week on Friday, April 22, the White Sox will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day at home with a special pre-game ceremony to honor local students who created video tributes to notable men who helped advance African Americans throughout baseball history.
On Saturday, April 23, the White Sox will celebrate Hispanic heritage at the ballpark on Día de la Familia. To start the festivities, the Mariachi Heritage Foundation's student ensemble will perform the National Anthem. In addition, the first 20,000 fans to enter U.S. Cellular Field will receive a Jose Abreu plush bleacher creature, presented by Total Performance Engine Oils.
In addition to cultural celebrations, the upcoming homestand welcomes the return of fan-favorite giveaways and events, including Free T-Shirt Thursday on April 21 and Coca-Cola Family Sunday with a children's autograph session on Sunday, April 24.

Chicago Fire players Joey Calistri, Patrick Doody, Eric Gehrig and Michael Stephens are scheduled to attend, and Stephens will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. They will be joined at the ballpark by the Copa America Centenario trophy. The Copa America Centenario - the oldest international continental soccer competition - will take place outside of South America for the first time. Select Copa America Centenario matches will be held in Chicago this June.

The K Zone For Sale returns for its third season as a ballpark promotion with an expanded seating area in Sections 154-156 - a total of more than 1,100 seats. When Sox ace Chris Sale starts, fans with tickets in these sections receive a "K Zone For Sale" T-shirt and strikeout card, which can be picked up at the #SoxSocial Lounge before the end of the first inning. "K Zone For Sale" tickets are available for $20 for most games at whitesox.com/kzone, with the exception of Coca-Cola Family Sundays when the tickets are $15 and the Crosstown Cup games (all subject to availability). Please note that the pitching rotation is subject to change.
The Heartzinger Choir from Misericordia Heart of Mercy will perform the National Anthem. Misericordia is an agency that supports over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities from a variety of socio-economic, racial and religious backgrounds in the greater Chicago community.

The Free T-Shirt Thursday promotion moves to a new weekday this season, allowing the first 10,000 fans who enter U.S. Cellular Field to take home a specially designed T-shirt. On Thursday, April 21, fans will receive a green T-shirt celebrating Earth Day and commemorating the new video board and pinwheels at U.S. Cellular Field.
NBC's The Voice contestant Michael Lynch will perform the National Anthem. Lynch is a Chicago native who earned his spot on the hit TV show's fifth season with a rendition of Enrique Iglesias' song "Bailamos."

As part of the White Sox Jackie Robinson Day celebration at U.S. Cellular Field, Andre Loving - the winner of the 2016 Black History Month video essay contest - will throw a ceremonial first pitch. Loving is a 17-year-old student at Percy L. Julian High School, and his video will be played on the video board at U.S. Cellular Field. The Chicago White Sox partnered with True Star Media for the video essay contest honoring the notable men who helped pave the way for African Americans in baseball. The contest was open to Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana students in grades six through 12 were eligible.

The White Sox invite fans to celebrate their Hispanic heritage at the ballpark on Día de la Familia. The Mariachi Heritage Foundation's student ensemble will perform the National Anthem. There will be various kid-friendly activities on the concourse, including an arts and crafts area with the National Museum of Mexican Art near Section 159. The first 20,000 fans to enter U.S. Cellular Field will receive a Jose Abreu plush bleacher creature, presented by Total Performance Engine Oils.
Chicago native Dan Donegan will throw a ceremonial first pitch. Donegan grew up on the South side of Chicago and plays guitar in the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum rock band Disturbed. In 2015, the band achieved its fifth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, making them only the third group to earn five consecutive albums to open atop the list along with Metallica and Dave Matthews Band. Disturbed will perform in Chicago on July 16 at the Open Air Festival.

Coca-Cola Family Sunday offers tickets as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. Entertainment includes children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloonists, a caricature artist and magnet art. Kids ages 10 and under eat free off the kids menu at ChiSox Bar & Grill on Family Sundays.
The White Sox hold the first of six children's autograph sessions of 2016 on Sunday, April 24. The session begins at 10:30 a.m. and is limited to the first 200 children who purchased the special autograph session and ticket package for $25 at whitesox.com/autographs.
