Cardinals place lefty Tyler Lyons on 15-day DL

The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have placed left-handed pitcher Tyler Lyons (right knee stress reaction) on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 31, and recalled left-handed pitcher Dean Kiekhefer from Memphis (AAA).
Lyons, who last pitched on Saturday, July 30 at Miami, is 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA in 30 games this season, including five appearances during which he has worked 3.0 or more innings.
Kiekhefer, who had been optioned to Memphis prior to last night's game, has made a total of 14 appearances for the Cardinals, going 0-0 with a 4.85 ERA in 13.0 innings pitched. He's been unscored upon in each of his last six appearances dating to June 3.
The 27-year-old Kiekhefer has posted a 4-1 mark with a 2.00 ERA in 23 relief appearances for Memphis this season.   He wears uniform no. 60.
