Orioles acquire OF Michael Bourn from the Arizona Diamondbacks

The Orioles tonight announced that they have acquired OF Michael Bourn from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for minor league OF Jason Heinrich. To make room on the 40-man roster, OF Joey Rickard was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.

The Orioles tonight announced that they have acquired OF MICHAEL BOURN from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for minor league OF JASON HEINRICH. To make room on the 40-man roster, OF JOEY RICKARD was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.
Bourn, 33, has batted .261/.307/.362 (86-for-329) with 12 doubles, six triples, three home runs, 43 runs scored, 30 RBI, and 13 stolen bases in 89 games with Arizona this season. Over 1,337 career Major League games, he has hit .266/.329/.356 with 190 doubles, 69 triples, 34 home runs, 673 runs scored, 353 RBI, and 339 stolen bases. He was originally selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fourth round of the 2003 First-Year Player Draft. Since the start of 2008, Bourn ranks third in the majors with 66 triples and ranks second with 320 stolen bases. 
Heinrich, 20, has batted .231/.301/.347 (34-for-147) with eight doubles, three home runs, 16 runs scored, and 13 RBI in 44 games with Short-Season A Aberdeen this season. Over 89 career minor league games, he has hit .251/.331/.365 (75-for-299) with 15 doubles, two triples, five home runs, 30 runs scored, and 36 RBI. He was originally selected by the Orioles in the fifth round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft.
Rickard, 25, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 22 (retroactive to July 21) with a right thumb ligament injury. He batted .268/.319/.377 (69-for-257) with 13 doubles, five home runs, 32 runs scored, and 19 RBI in 85 games with the Orioles this season.
