Pirates announce 2017 schedule

The Pittsburgh Pirates today released their 2017 regular season schedule, which will feature the Bucs opening the season in Boston before returning to Pittsburgh for their Home Opener on Friday, April 7 vs. Atlanta.

The Pittsburgh Pirates today released their 2017 regular season schedule, which will feature the Bucs opening the season in Boston before returning to Pittsburgh for their Home Opener on Friday, April 7 vs. Atlanta. It will be the first time the Pirates play a Homer Opener against the Braves since 1998.
Following their first homestand of the season against Atlanta and Cincinnati, the Pirates will embark on a six game road trip against National League Central rivals Chicago and St. Louis from April 14-19.
The home portion of Pittsburgh's 2017 interleague schedule will also feature visits by the Yankees from April 21-23, Tampa Bay from June 27-29, Detroit from August 7-8 and Baltimore from September 26-27 in the final two home games of the regular season.
The Pirates will close out the 2017 season on the road with a four-game series in Washington from September 28 thru October 1.
