Colorado Rockies recall pitcher Jeff Hoffman

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Jeff Hoffman from Triple-A Albuquerque and placed left-hander Tyler Anderson on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to June 1) with left knee inflammation.

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Jeff Hoffman from Triple-A Albuquerque and placed left-hander Tyler Anderson on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to June 1) with left knee inflammation.
• Hoffman, 24, was recalled prior to the May 23 game at Philadelphia and made his second start of the season … earned his second career win after pitching a career-high seven innings and allowing one run on three hits with no walks and seven strikeouts …  is 2-0 with a 3.29 ERA (13.2 IP, 5 ER) over three appearances with two starts for Colorado this year … earned his first career win May 11 vs. Los Angeles-NL, after allowing three runs on six hits with two walks and a career-high eight strikeouts … over his career for Colorado in 11 games and eight starts, Hoffman is 2-4 with a 4.40 ERA (45.0 IP, 22 ER), 19 walks and 39 strikeouts … in eight starts for Albuquerque this season, he is 3-2 with a 3.68 ERA (44.0 IP, 18 ER), 16 walks and 38 strikeouts … was acquired by the Rockies from the Toronto Blue Jays along with right-handed pitcher Miguel Castro, infielder Jose Reyes and right-hander Jesus Tinoco in exchange for right-hander LaTroy Hawkins and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on July 28, 2015 … was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the first round (ninth overall) of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of East Carolina University. • Anderson, 27, is 3-5 with a 5.85 ERA (60.0 IP, 39 ER) in 11 starts for the Rockies this season … he suffered the 10-4 loss to Seattle on Tuesday at Coors Fields, allowing a career-high 11 hits and career-high tying six runs … since making his Major-League debut last June vs. San Diego, Anderson has posted a record of 8-11 with a 4.34 ERA (174.1 IP, 84 ER) with 48 walks and 158 strikeouts in 30 starts … he was selected by Colorado out of the University of Oregon in the first round of Major League Baseball's 2011 First-Year Player Draft.
