Major League Baseball announced today that Pittsburgh's Josh Harrison has been named to the National League All-Star team for this year's All-Star Game in Miami.

A member of Team USA during the World Baseball Classic this past March, Harrison will be making his second appearance at the Midsummer Classic. In 2014, he was the first utility player named to the National League All-Star team since Omar Infante in 2010. Harrison played the final three innings in left field during the 2014 All-Star Game and went hitless in two at bats.

The 29-year-old Harrison has made 42 starts at second base, 28 starts at third base and five starts in left field for Pittsburgh this season, in addition to making one appearance in right field. He has reached base safely in 65 of his 75 starts, producing a .367 on-base percentage in those games.

In 79 games with the Pirates this season, Harrison has produced a .368 OBP and is hitting .288 (85-for-295) with 16 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 27 RBI and a Major League-leading 18 hit by pitches. His .815 OPS and nine home runs are the second-highest marks of his career, trailing only the .837 OPS and 13 home runs he recorded during his first All-Star campaign in 2014.
