Fans will have their first chance to purchase exclusive Astros gold merchandise at the Astros Gold Rush retail event, which will take place at the Union Station Team Store in Minute Maid Park, beginning at midnight on Monday, March 19. The special gold items are part of the Gold Program from New Era and Majestic, commemorating the 2017 Astros World Series Championship.
Customers at the Gold Rush event will be treated to an exclusive gift-with-purchase, a limited-edition gold H Strong patch. The gold H Strong patch will be available exclusively at the Astros Gold Rush event for the first 1,000 customers who purchase both a gold Astros jersey and gold cap. The first 200 customers at the Gold Rush event between the hours of 5:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning will also receive free coffee and pastries.
The Astros Union Station Team Store will host several special activities throughout the Gold Rush, including photo opportunities with the 2017 World Series Trophy, Astros mascot Orbit and the Astros Coca-Cola Shooting Stars. Photo opportunities with the Trophy will take place from 12:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Orbit will be available in the Union Station Team Store for photo opportunities from 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. and the Astros Coca-Cola Shooting Stars will be available on Monday from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Additionally, fans are encouraged to come dressed in their best gold-inspired outfits between the hours of 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Monday to be entered to win game tickets for Astros Championship Weekend, April 6-8.
The Gold Rush event will also mark the first opportunity for fans to purchase a limited-edition Astros World Champion Fan Ring, which has been specially-crafted to closely replicate the Astros players' World Championship Ring. Only 112 rings were created, one of which will be raffled off to benefit the Astros Foundation. Each World Championship Fan Ring will retail at the symbolic price of $11,112.00. The Astros won 11 postseason games en route to being crowned World Series Champions, which, when added to the Astros 101 regular season wins, totals 112 wins for the 2017 World Championship season. The Astros World Championship Fan Ring, which will be available for purchase from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. during the Gold Rush, will be unveiled on April 3 when the players receive their rings, so this opportunity is to purchase sight unseen.
