The Texas Rangers today announced that shortstop Elvis Andrus has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to April 12, with an olecranon fracture in his right elbow. 
To replace Andrus on the active roster, first baseman Ronald Guzman (#67) has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock of the Pacific Coast League. Guzman will be looking to make his Major League debut.
Andrus left Wednesday's game versus the Los Angeles Angels after being hit on the right elbow by a Keynan Middleton pitch in the ninth inning. X-rays and a CT scan done on Thursday confirmed the fracture. Rangers Team Physician Keith Meister indicated that the fracture is stable and will not require surgery. Dr. Meister estimated that Andrus will be sidelined for approximately six to eight weeks. Andrus' elbow will remain in a splint.
Since making his Major League debut for the Rangers on opening day in 2009, Andrus has been inactive for just three of the Rangers' 1515 regular season and post-season games, May 17, 2016 on the MLB suspended list and July 5 & 7, 2017 on the MLB paternity list.
Andrus batting .327 with two home runs and five RBI in 14 games in 2018. 
Guzman, 23, has a slash line of .412/.524/.529/1.053 with one RBI in 5 games with the Express this season. The left-handed batter was selected as the 2017 Tom Grieve Minor League Player of the Year, batting .298 with 12 homers and 62 RBI in 125 games at Round Rock. This is his seventh pro season after being signed by Texas as a non-drafted free agent in July 2011.
The Rangers open a six-game roadtrip on Friday night in Houston.
