The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed RHP PRESTON GUILMET on waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals. To make room on the 40 man roster, RHP DECK McGUIRE has been designated for assignment.
 
GUILMET, 30, has appeared in two games this season for the St. Louis Cardinals, posting a record of 0-1 with a 22.50 ERA in two innings pitched. The 6-2, 200lb right-handed pitcher appeared in 21 games this season for Memphis in the Pacific Coast League (AAA) recording 11 saves and an ERA of 0.93. In 29.0 innings with the Redbirds, he allowed just nine hits while striking out 35. Owns a career record of 0-2 over four Major League seasons with a 9.36 ERA while pitching for Cleveland, Baltimore, Tampa, Milwaukee and St. Louis.
 
He will report to the Blue Jays and a corresponding move will be made at that time.
