Dodgers activate Kenta Maeda

The Los Angeles Dodgers today activated right-handed pitcher Kenta Maeda from the paternity list and optioned left-handed pitcher Edward Paredes to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Los Angeles Dodgers today activated right-handed pitcher Kenta Maeda from the paternity list and optioned left-handed pitcher Edward Paredes to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Maeda and his wife, Saho, celebrated the birth of their son on Friday morning in Los Angeles. Maeda made his 15th start of the year on July 6 against the Angels, giving up just one run on three hits over 5.2 innings and struck out nine against two walks as he did not factor in the decision. In 15 starts and one relief appearance this season, the Japan native has a 5-5 record and 3.24 ERA (29 ER/80.2 IP) and has held batters to a .230 average.
Paredes, 31, has appeared in 15 games of relief for Los Angeles this season, combining for a 2-0 record along with a 5.87 ERA (5 ER/7.2 IP), striking out eight batters against two walks.
