Pirates acquire pitcher Yordi Rosario from White Sox

The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired right-handed pitcher Yordi Rosario along with international slot money from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for pitcher Ivan Nova.

The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired right-handed pitcher Yordi Rosario along with international slot money from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for pitcher Ivan Nova. The announcement was made by Executive Vice President, General Manager Neal Huntington.
The 19-year-old Rosario posted a combined record of 1-4 with a 2.57 ERA (56.0ip/16er) and 70 strikeouts in 14 appearances (11 starts) in 2018 between the Dominican Summer League White Sox and Arizona League White Sox.
Rosario was signed by the White Sox as a non-drafted free agent on February 29, 2016.
The Pirates also receive a $500,000 increase in the Club's International Bonus Pool, allowing the Club to invest additional dollars in this year's international market.
Since making his professional debut in 2016, Rosario has posted a 6-12 record, 3.43 ERA (162.2ip/62er) and 160 strikeouts in 40 appearances (34 starts) during his minor league career.
