Nationals sending 4 Top 30 prospects to AFL

PHILADELPHIA -- The Nationals are sending six players to the Arizona Fall League, including four of their top prospects. The 2016 AFL begins Oct. 11, and its annual championship game is scheduled for Nov. 19.
The group includes outfielder Andrew Stevenson (the team's No. 8 prospect as rated by MLBPipeline.com); right-handers Austin Voth (No. 9) and Ryan Brinley; left-hander and infielders Drew Ward (No. 10) and Osvaldo Abreu (No. 19).

Stevenson was the Nationals' second-round pick in the 2015 Draft and is hitting .278/.331/.380 with a .711 OPS in the Minors this season. Voth has spent the season at Triple-A Syracuse, where he has posted a 3.37 ERA in 25 starts with 121 strikeouts and 51 walks in 144 1/3 innings. Ward, who played in the Fall League last season, has been showing off his power in the Minors with 14 home runs between Class A Advanced and Double-A this season.
