5 Lake Elsinore players named to California League All-Star team

Prospects Jose Rondon and Michael Gettys each had a four-hit game Wednesday and five members of the Lake Elsinore Storm were named to the California League All-Star team.
Second baseman Luis Urias, third baseman Josh VanMeter and pitchers Colby Blueberg, Brad Wieck and Dinelson Lamet were selected for the California League team that will play the Carolina League All-Stars on June 21 in the Class A Advanced All-Star Game to be played at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore.
The California League also named the Storm staff -- manager Lance Burkhart, hitting coach Xavier Nady, pitching coach Glendon Rusch and coach Mike McCoy -- to lead the California League team.
Urias, who turned 19 on June 3, is hitting .317. VanMeter is hitting .295 with six homers and 21 RBIs.
The right-handed Blueberg is 9-for-9 in save conversions with a 1.04 ERA in 26 innings over 20 appearances. He has 27 strikeouts against three walks and 14 hits. Wieck has a 1.55 ERA in 29 innings over 18 appearances with 40 strikeouts.
Lamet was 7-1 with a 2.35 ERA in 12 starts for Lake Elsinore before being promoted to Double-A San Antonio. He will not play in the California-Carolina League All-Star Game.
Shortstop Rondon (.256) was 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored for Double-A San Antonio (18-39) as the Missions defeated Frisco, 11-2, in San Antonio. Center fielder Nelson Ward (.222) was 2-for-3 with a triple, a sacrifice fly, two RBIs and a walk. Third baseman River Stevens (.353) was 1-for-3 with a walk, a sacrifice fly and two runs scored. Designated hitter Gabriel Quintana (.241) was 1-for-3 with a walk, a RBI and two runs scored.
Right-handed Missions starter T.J. Weir (1-1, 3.27 ERA) allowed two runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
Center fielder Gettys (.308) was 4-for-4 with his 23rd steal and two runs scored as Class A Fort Wayne (33-26) scored a 6-2 win at Bowling Green.
Designated hitter Austin Allen (.317) was 2-for-5 with his fourth homer, four RBIs and two runs scored. First baseman Ty France (.243) was 0-for-1 with three walks and three runs scored.
Gettys and Austin Allen were each named Tuesday to play in the Midwest League All-Star Game on June 21.
Starting left-hander Logan Allen (3.07 ERA) allowed two runs on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts in four innings. Right-hander Blake Rogers (1-0, 3.48) allowed two hits and a walk with a strikeout over four scoreless innings. Right-hander Nick Monroe (3.67) allowed a hit in a scoreless inning.
Starting right-handed pitcher Bryce Morrow (1-7, 5.94 ERA in nine starts) was released from San Antonio on Wednesday. Right fielder Nick Schulz was activated from the Missions' seven-day disabled list.

DSL PADRES (2-2): Padres 5-0, Blue Jays 0-2. RHPs Anderson Polanco and Jonathan Guzman combined for a one-hitter for the Padres in the rain-shortened, six-inning second game. Polanco walked one with five strikeouts in three innings. Guzman (1.80 ERA) allowed a hit and a walk with a strikeout in three innings to complete the shutout. LHP Adolfo Hernandez allowed two runs on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over four innings in the opener. 3B Kelvin Alarcon (.273) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored in the doubleheader. LF Edward Burgos (.667) was 2-for-2 with a double and a RBI in the second game. DH Carlos Taveras was 2-for-3.
