OAKLAND -- The A's ended their five-game losing streak in the fashion they know best when they're at home: they walked off.
Oakland got its American League-leading eighth walk-off win Saturday night, this one delivered on a two-run homer by Rajai Davis in a 5-4 win over the Twins.
"Today, early on, it didn't look like it was going to be our day again, and these guys kept fighting," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "We've had enough history here at home this year where we've come back and won some games that you feel like you always have a chance."
That started with pinch-hitter Adam Rosales working a walk against Twins reliever Taylor Rogers. Davis then turned on a 1-0 fastball and roped it over the wall in left-center.
"We've been able to do it at home quite a few times this year as far as walk-offs and dramatic ninth innings," Melvin said. "As soon as Rosy gets on, you feel like there's a decent chance [that] we have a chance to do something. We've done it enough times where, I wouldn't say you expect it, but there's some confidence there in the ninth inning."
For Davis, that confidence started in the eighth, when rookie Matt Chapman blasted a two-out solo homer to left-center to cut the Twins lead to one.
"That home run that Chappy hit, of course it was a monster shot, but that was a huge, big hit right there, to get us right there in striking distance," Melvin said. "Great at-bat by Adam Rosales, got him on base, got the [winning] run to the plate, and the rest is history."

Davis' walk-off homer capped a four-hit night, matching his career high. He led off the game with a double and scored two batters later, and added singles in the second and fourth innings. 
"He's playing his baseball right now. Had another big night for us tonight, probably the last two weeks, he's really swung the bat well. To put together a four-hit day and the home run to culminate with the walk-off, he's really starting to feel better about his game."
And while Davis says he's happy he capitalized on his chances, he thinks that this team has been really good about battling all the way to the end.
"I think this team is a resilient team that never quits, fighting to the last out, especially when we're at home," Davis said. "That's what we did tonight."
