Aaron Judge: 'I'm not locked in yet'

Maybe six homers in five games is just a warmup

August 3rd, 2020

Aaron Judge has been on a tear so far this young season. In the Yankees' first eight games, he has a league-leading six home runs and 14 RBIs. He's homered in five straight games -- three away from Don Mattingly, Dale Long and Ken Griffey Jr.'s record of eight consecutive games with a dinger. He hit two on Sunday night against the Red Sox, including a game-winner that sounded like it was shot out of a cannon.

If he keeps up this pace, he'll have 45 home runs and 105 RBIs in just 60 games. It's too bad the Yankees aren't playing 162 games, because then he might've hit 121 long balls.

With all of this information swirling around in your head, you're probably thinking to yourself, "Wow, how could Aaron Judge be any better than he is right now? He's really locked in."

It's a good thought, but, as Judge told us after the game on Sunday, he's not quite there yet.

"I'm not locked in yet, I'm still trying to find it."

God help us all when he finally does.
