June 19th, 2018

KANSAS CITY -- Rangers third baseman continues to show up on the leaderboards but designated hitter is being shut out in the latest updated balloting for the All-Star Game.
VOTE: 2018 Camping World MLB All-Star Ballot
Beltre is fourth among American League third basemen for the second week in a row. Beltre has received 249,080 votes while of the Indians leads with 893,530 votes. of the Yankees has 509,188 votes and of the Astros has 410,412 votes. Beltre has played in just 43 games because of a strained left hamstring, but is still hitting .322 with a .378 on-base percentage and a .456 slugging percentage.
Choo has not cracked the top five among designated hitters, despite being one of the hottest hitters in the league. Choo has reached base in 32 straight games, hitting .333 with a .483 on-base percentage and a .590 slugging percentage in that stretch. Overall he is fifth in the AL with a .394 on-base percentage and 12th with a .872 OPS.
Beltre is trying for his fifth All-Star selection while Choo has never made it in his 14-year career. Right now, Choo stands an excellent chance to be selected as a reserve as the Rangers All-Star representative, although reliever -- who is 16-for-16 in save opportunities -- is also a candidate.
