The D-backs agreed to terms with catcher Andrew Yerzy, their second-round pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, on Monday.

D-backs' 2016 Draft picks

Yerzy was ranked as the No.157 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline.com, but he really shot up Draft boards this spring during Team Canada's annual tour through the Florida amateur circuit. Scouts love the power that came from Yerzy's 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame and left-handed swing, and he's projected to be a serviceable Major League catcher defensively.

Most famously, Yerzy excelled during the High School Select home run derby last July at All-Star Weekend in Cincinnati, where he advanced to the final round. The 17-year-old was committed to Notre Dame.

The D-backs have now agreed to terms with 26 of their top 40 Draft selections, including outfielder Anfernee Grier, who was their top pick at No. 39 overall.
