ANAHEIM, CA -- The Angels today agreed to terms on a one-year contract with outfielder Ryan LaMarre (la-MARR). Today's announcement was made by General Manager Billy Eppler.
LaMarre, 28, appeared in 86 games last season for triple-A Pawtucket batting .303 (96/317) with 44 runs scored, 15 doubles, 10 home runs, 41 RBI and 17 stolen bases. He was called up by Boston on June 18th and played in six games (0/5, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 SO). LaMarre signed with the Red Sox as a free agent December 14, 2015 after spending his previous six seasons in the Reds' system. 
2017 will mark the eighth professional campaign for LaMarre. He has appeared in 646 minor league games with a career slash line of .267/.344/.382 while posting 156 stolen bases in 213 attempts (73%). As a prospect with Cincinnati, he was touted as the Reds' best defensive outfielder by Baseball America for four consecutive seasons (2011-14) and boasts a career minor league fielding pct. of .984 in 1,546 total outfield chances (CF & RF). 
A native of Royal Oak, MI, LaMarre earned All-Big 10 honors (2009-10) at the University of Michigan. He hit .419 his junior season while earning All-Mideast Region second team honors. Originally selected by Cincinnati in the second round of the 2010 Amateur Draft, LaMarre was added to the Reds' roster on August 20, 2015 and made his MLB debut on August 22, 2015 vs. Arizona as the starting center fielder.  
To make room on the 40-man roster, INF Gregorio Petit has been designated for assignment.
