ANAHEIM -- Angels third baseman Yunel Escobar left in the third inning of Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Astros with an injury to his left wrist.

Escobar moved to his left to field a hard-hit ground ball from Houston's Jake Marisnick to lead off the inning, but the ball ricocheted off his wrist area and skidded away for a base hit. After consulting with trainers, Escobar was removed from the game. He was later diagnosed with a left wrist contusion and is day to day.
