SEATTLE -- Safeco Field will host the Mariners' Class A Short-Season affiliate, the Everett AquaSox, on Friday with the Mariners out of town and the Northwest League Division Series in need of a venue.
Game 1 of the division series between Everett and Spokane was rained out Wednesday. They are now scheduled to play in Spokane on Thursday, followed by Game 2 at Safeco Field on Friday. If another game is needed to determine the best-of-three series, the two teams will return to Everett Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Friday's game starts at 7:15 p.m. PT. Tickets are $12 and will be available at the Safeco Field box office beginning at 10 a.m.
The AquaSox (45-31) had the best record in the Northwest League North and the second-best record overall.
