Drury tabbed Co-NL Player of the Week

September 20th, 2016

SAN DIEGO -- D-backs infielder/outfielder has gotten regular playing time of late and has certainly made the most of his opportunity.
Drury was named Co-National League Player of the Week on Monday along with the Pirates' Sean Rodriguez.
Drury hit .500/.588/1.036 with four home runs and seven RBIs in seven games, leading the D-backs to a sweep of the Rockies and a four-game series split with the Dodgers. Drury recorded three multi-hit games in that stretch, bookending his week with a pair of four-hit games.
An infielder throughout his professional career, Drury has also played both corner outfield positions in addition to second and third base, as the D-backs try to find ways to get his bat in the lineup.
"He really earned it," D-backs manager Chip Hale said of Drury's honor. "I mean, here's a guy who's played all of these positions this year and of late has gotten to play more consistently and become a go-to guy for us. He and [Mitch] Haniger in that Dodger series were really the guys that carried us, I thought."
