Astros prospect Davis hits three homers
J.D. Davis spent a large part of Thursday night's game jogging around the bases and celebrating with teammates.
The Astros' No. 12 prospect blasted a trio of home runs in Corpus Christi's, 8-4, win over San Antonio. Davis finished 4-for-5 with five RBIs.

Davis has hit two homers in a game three times in his career, but Thursday marked the first time he ever trotted around the bases three times in a single night. The Astros' third-round pick in the 2014 Draft, Davis also homered on Wednesday and has clubbed all seven of his round trippers in his past 12 games.
After hitting .158 with four extra-base hits -- all doubles -- in his first 21 games this year, the 6'3", 235-pound third baseman has been on fire, raising his average nearly 100 points while belting five doubles and seven homers since May 4.
Davis really harnessed his power stroke last season, hitting 26 homers in 120 games for Class-A Advanced Lancaster.
