Throughout his career, Renato Nunez has shown a tendency to hit his home runs in bunches. That's certainly been the case lately for the A's No. 20 prospect, as he went deep for the fourth straight game for Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.
Nunez extended his streak with a solo shot to the opposite field off Round Rock starter Carl Webster in the fourth inning. The homer pushed the 23-year-old's season total to seven, five of which have come in his past seven games. Nunez would tack on a run-scoring double later to finish 2-for-3 at the plate, though Nashville would ultimately drop the contest, 7-3.

After hitting at least 18 home runs in each of his last four seasons, Nunez, who's hitting .273 through 23 games, seems well on his way toward eclipsing that total in 2017.

• No. 1 overall prospectYoan Moncada (White Sox No. 1) extended his hitting streak to nine games with his eighth multihit game of the year for Triple-A Charlotte. He went 3-for-4 in the contest, also scoring two runs and reaching once via a walk, to improve his average to .330 through 23 games.

• No. 5 overall prospect Victor Robles' (Nationals' No. 1) second home run accounted for the only scoring in Class A Advanced Potomac's 1-0 win over Down East. Despite missing much of April with a hamstring injury, the 19-year-old center fielder is hitting .317/.404/.610 with seven steals through 11 games.
• No. 21 overall prospect Clint Frazier (Yankees' No. 2) homered for the second time in three games to help pace Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a rout of Lehigh Valley. The 22-year-old later added an RBI double before finishing 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs.

• No. 30 overall prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays' No. 1) stayed hot for Class A Lansing with a 2-for-4 performance that included a two-run homer. As the second-youngest everyday player in the Midwest League, the 18-year-old Guerrero has hit .342/.457/.579 with four home runs, 15 RBIs and more walks (14) than strikeouts (12) in 22 games.
• No. 78 overall prospect Grant Holmes (A's No. 3) was dominant in a relief appearance for Double-A Midland, striking out six of the 14 batters he faced in four scoreless innings. The 21-year-old right-hander threw 42 of his 61 pitches for strikes, allowing one hit and walking one.
• No. 83 overall prospect Raimel Tapia (Rockies' No. 5) extend his hitting streak to 10 games with his seventh straight multihit game, as he went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and two RBIs for Triple-A Albuquerque. He's hitting .386 with 34 hits and has reached base in all 19 games this year. On the mound, No. 39 overall prospect Jeff Hoffman (Rockies' No. 2) tossed six innings of two-run ball with five strikeouts to record his second straight win.
• Brewers' No. 25 prospect Jake Gatewood extended his hitting streak to 13 games by going 2-for-2 with two RBIs in Class A Carolina's 3-0 win over Buies Creek. One of those hits was his fifth home run, and he's now gone deep four times in his last six games. Overall, the 21-year-old first baseman is batting .333/.436/.591 through 26 games, with a vastly improved 17-to-30 walk-to-strikeout ratio.

• Mets' No. 27 prospect Patrick Mazeika finished a triple short of hitting for the cycle as he powered Class A Advanced St. Lucie to a 6-3 win over Bradenton. He hit a two-run homer in the third inning, his fourth of the season, before finishing 3-for-4 with three RBIs. The 2015 eighth-rounder is swinging a hot bat to begin the season, with a .367/.429/.620 slash line, 12 extra-base hits and 21 RBIs through 22 games.
• Padres' No. 17 prospectLogan Allen set a career high with nine strikeouts in a lights-out start for Class A Fort Wayne. The 19-year-old lefty permitted just two hits and one walk in six scoreless innings, throwing 62 of his 95 pitches for strikes en route to his first win of the season. Allen owns a 1.50 ERA through five starts, during which he's held opposing hitters to a .146 clip and fanned 34 in 24 innings.

• Reds' No. 12 prospect Vladimir Gutierrez set a pair of career highs as he struck out nine over seven innings for Class A Advanced Daytona in what was his best professional start. The 21-year-old righty, whom the Reds signed for $4.75 million last September, allowed two earned runs on five hits, throwing 66 of his 86 pitches for strikes. Gutierrez has given up three earned runs, with 19 strikeouts and zero walks, in 17 innings across his past three starts
• Tigers' No. 7 prospect Mike Gerber appeared to go 5-for-5 in Double-A Erie's win over Bowie -- only to have the official scorer change his second hit to an error after the game. It was nonetheless an impressive performance by the 24-year-old outfielder, who recorded two doubles, three runs scored and his fifth stolen base. He's hitting .300 in 24 games this season.
