The catching Austins had another big day Monday in the Padres' farm system.
Austin Hedges, 23, hit his second home run in as many days for Triple-A El Paso and was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs while raising his batting average to an even.400.
Austin Allen, 22, was named the Class A Player of the Week in the Midwest League, then went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, although his batting average slipped again to .615.
But the Austins were far from along in having big games Monday night. Starting from the top:
Second baseman Jemile Weeks had four hits and fell a home run short of the cycle as El Paso (3-7) got 19 hits, including three home runs, in a 14-4 victory over Reno in the Texas city. Hedges and right fielder Jose Pirela each had three hits and four other Chihuahuas had two hits, including center fielder Manuel Margot, who hit his first homer.
Right-hander Dinelson Lamet and relievers Jose Torres and Jimmy Brasoban combined for a five-hit shutout as Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore (7-5) took a 1-0 win over San Jose at Lake Elsinore.
Right-handed starters Jean Cosme and Austin Smith piggy-backed, allowing one earned run on five hits as Class A Fort Wayne (8-4) scored a 7-1 win at Lansing.
A closer look at all three wins: Weeks (.313) was 4-for-6 with a double and a triple with three runs scored and a RBI. Pirela (.250) was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Margot, 21, had a triple and the homer in five at-bats with two runs scored to raise his average to .189. Third baseman Ryan Schimpf (.231) was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. First baseman James Loney (.235) was 2-for-5 with a RBI and a run scored .
Right-hander Carlos Pimental (1-1, 8.68 ERA) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings to get the win for El Paso. Left-hander Daniel Moskos (2.08 ERA) allowed two hits with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. Right-hander Jose Dominguez (4.26) had a strikeout in two perfect innings.
Lamet (2-0, 2.40 ERA) pitched the first six innings of the Storm shutout, allowing three hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Torres (1.23) allowed a hit in an inning and Brasoban (0.00) picked up his fourth save while allowing a hit in two scoreless innings.
Cosme (2-0, 2.08 ERA) pitched the first five innings for Fort Wayne and allowed the unearned run on three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. Smith, the Padres' second-round pick last June, allowed two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings to lower his ERA to 4.35.

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (4-7): TULSA 10-2, Missions 2-0. Right-handed starter Fabio Castillo (1-2, 3.86 ERA) allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings of the second game. RHP Adam Cimber closed with a perfect two-thirds of an inning. RHP Johnny Hellweg (0-2, 7.56 ERA) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. RHP Kyle Lloyd (6.75) allowed four runs on four hits with a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings. C Rocky Gale (.300) was 2-for-2 with a run scored in the first game.
