CHICAGO -- Avisail Garcia's return to the White Sox outfield from a strained right hamstring will likely be closer to the end of June, the club announced on Sunday.

The right fielder underwent a follow-up MRI recently that revealed improvement but the continued presence of a Grade 2 strain. He will be receiving PRP injections as part of his treatment, and current plans are to limit his rehab activities for the next three weeks. A first-time All-Star in 2017, Garcia is hitting .233 with a home run, four RBIs and a .565 OPS over 76 plate appearances this season.

Left-handed pitcher Carlos Rodon will continue his rehabilitation with Triple-A Charlotte. He will join the Knights on Monday and will start for them on Thursday.

These Minor League starts represent the end of Rodon's rehab after undergoing season-ending arthroscopic left shoulder surgery last September. He allowed one run on three hits over five innings with six strikeouts on Saturday for Class A Kannapolis.

The left-hander could return to the White Sox rotation in early June if all continues to go well.

"He felt good," White Sox manager Rick Renteria said. "For all indications, he's moving along very, very well, and we're happy to see that."
