Yordan Alvarez, Chas McCormick and Tayler Scott, Astros

Alvarez left Sunday's game against the Angels in the bottom of the third after appearing to injure his right leg on a slide. More >

McCormick (right hand fracture) is running and playing catch and was hoping to resume swinging a bat over the weekend.

Scott was placed on the injured list on Saturday with a thoracic spine strain. More >

Max Muncy and Tony Gonsolin, Dodgers

Muncy was scratched from Sunday's lineup with general body soreness.

Gonsolin (Tommy John surgery) made his third rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, throwing 45 pitches over three innings of work. The Dodgers plan to wait until he throws his next bullpen session to determine when he might return to the Majors. More >

Rafael Devers, Tyler O'Neill and Rob Refsnyder, Red Sox

Devers was placed on the 10-day IL Saturday with left shoulder inflammation and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season, however he will not need surgery and the hope is that he'll be back at full strength in time for the 2025 season. More >

O'Neill was held out the lineup for the first game of Boston's Sunday doubleheader due to back tightness, which began bothering him Saturday.

Refsnyder will miss the rest of the 2024 season with a right forearm strain. More >

Max Scherzer and Josh Jung, Rangers

Scherzer was scratched from his start against the Mariners on Saturday and placed on the 15-day injured list with a left hamstring strain, effectively ending his season. More >

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said on Friday that Jung, who underwent surgery to repair a right wrist fracture earlier this season, is being shut down for a couple of days with discomfort near the surgical site. He’ll go to Arizona to visit the surgeon on Monday and rejoin the club in Oakland on Tuesday. The hope is for him to play during Texas’ final road trip of the season. More >

Austin Hays and Spencer Turnbull, Phillies

Hays (kidney infection) began a two-game rehab assignment on Saturday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley and is expected to be activated off the injured list early next week.

Turnbull (right lat strain) made a rehab appearance on Sunday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, throwing 34 pitches (23 strikes) over two innings of work. More >

Grayson Rodriguez and Ryan Mountcastle, Orioles

Rodriguez (right lat/teres strain) continues to throw routine bullpen sessions, with his latest coming on Friday. However, Rodriguez has still not faced live hitters, and general manager Mike Elias acknowledges time is running low for Rodriguez to get built back up.

Mountcastle (left wrist sprain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Friday. More >

Ha-Seong Kim and Jhony Brito, Padres

Kim (right shoulder inflammation) has resumed his throwing program and played catch on Friday, per manager Mike Shildt, but hasn't been able to ramp up without experiencing discomfort.

Brito, who hasn't pitched since making an appearance with Triple-A El Paso on Aug. 17, was placed on the 60-day IL Sunday with a right elbow strain. His status for the 2025 season remains unclear. More >

Ke'Bryan Hayes, Pirates

Hayes, who has been on the IL since Aug. 19 with lower back inflammation, will not return in 2024, per assistant general manager Kevan Graves. More >

Steven Kwan, Guardians

Kwan (mid-back tightness) went through his usual pregame routine on Sunday to test his back. Assuming he recovers well, he is expected to be activated on Tuesday. More >

Gray will miss the remainder of the season after the team put him on the injured list due to forearm tendinitis on Saturday. More >

Kelly left Saturday night's game before the start of the sixth inning with a right calf cramp. More >

Kevin Gausman and Will Wagner, Blue Jays

Gausman had a no-hitter going through five innings when he left Thursday's game in Arlington unexpectedly with back tightness, but he later said that he's feeling OK and still hopes to make his next start.

Brandon Williamson and Andrew Abbott, Reds

Williamson left Tuesday's start after 1 1/3 innings due to a left elbow strain. An MRI revealed a complete tear of his left UCL, for which he will need Tommy John surgery.
