Miller got hit on his right shoulder by a pitch thrown by Tom Koehler in the second inning. He continued to play, but came out following the fourth inning.

Adeiny Hechavarria took over at shortstop and Daniel Robertson, who started Thursday's game at shortstop, slid over to second base to take Miller's place.
