Barnes accepts assignment to Triple-A

DENVER -- Outfielder remains in the picture with the Rockies after all.
Designated for assignment a week ago to make room for outfield prospect , Barnes cleared waivers and accept an outright assignment to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Barnes, 30, batted .220 in 48 games in a part-time role after beginning the season at Albuquerque, where he hit .277. Barnes has been popular with teammates and fans for his energetic play. He has hit .249 over three seasons with the Rockies, after batting .233 in two seasons with the Astros.
