Dodgers reinstate Alex Wood

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated left-handed pitcher Alex Wood from the 10-day disabled list and optioned right-handed pitcher Brandon Morrow to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Wood, who missed 13 games due to SC joint inflammation, will make his ninth start of the season tonight against the Reds. Wood last pitched on May 26 against the Cubs, allowing just two hits in 5.0 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts and recorded his sixth win of the season. He currently holds the longest scoreless streak in the Majors, as he has tossed a career-high 25.1 scoreless innings. In 10 games (eight starts) this season, Wood has gone a perfect 6-0, currently his longest career winning streak, with a 1.69 ERA (9 ER/48.0 IP) and has held batters to a .189 average. He has struck out 60 batters against 15 walks this year and has posted a 1.00 WHIP.
