ST. LOUIS -- A fan who was grazed by a stray bullet at Busch Stadium on Tuesday has been treated and released, according to a statement issued by the Cardinals.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch first reported that a woman was grazed on the arm by a bullet while sitting in the stands at Busch Stadium during the Cards' win over the Brewers on Tuesday night. A police spokesperson told the Post-Dispatch that the bullet appears to have come from outside the stadium and that they recovered the bullet slug near the woman's seat.
"We are aware of an incident last night in which a fan reported being struck by a stray bullet that presumably originated from outside the stadium," the Cardinals said in a statement Wednesday. "The fan was treated for an abrasion and a bruise on her arm at First Aid and released. She was interviewed by police, who are investigating the matter.
"There is nothing more important than the safety of our fans, and the Cardinals are grateful that no one was seriously injured. We will be sharing more information with the media as further details emerge." <p. 14th="" a="" according="" air.="" and="" around="" avenue="" believe="" bullet="" busch="" call="" chouteau="" come="" confirmed="" div="" fired="" for="" from="" have="" into="" less="" may="" mile="" near="" police="" shooting="" shots="" sits="" someone="" sources="" stadium.="" street="" than="" that="" the="" there="" they="" time="" to="" was="" which="" woman=""></p.>
