Stomach bug keeps Davis from starting lineup

ST. PETERSBURG -- Chris Davis had a stomach ailment Monday that kept him from the starting lineup against the Rays, but O's manager Buck Showalter didn't expect his starting first baseman to miss much time because of it.

"Obviously he's under the weather," Showalter said. "Hopefully he'll be OK by game time. Let's let the doctor figure it out."

Davis had played in all of Baltimore's games since returning on July 14 from a right oblique injury that cost him 26 games. He's hit three homers and driven in nine runs in 10 games since coming off the disabled list.

Mark Trumbo manned first base in Davis' absence Monday.
