Rizzo scratched due to tightness in back

Weeks to miss a month with sprained ACL, bone bruise in left knee

March 2nd, 2017

MESA, Ariz. -- Cubs first baseman was scratched from Thursday's game against the Reds because of tightness in his back. His status was day to day.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon said Rizzo woke up with the problem and could return as early as Friday. Rizzo is 1-for-3 in three games so far this spring.
The news wasn't as good for infielder . An MRI revealed a sprained ACL and bone bruise in his left knee after a collision Monday at second base. No surgery is required, but Weeks will be sidelined at least four weeks, which means he won't get any more Cactus League at-bats.
Infielder has not played because he's dealing with tightness in his left hamstring.
