Rizzo sits with back soreness, is day to day

MILWAUKEE -- First baseman Anthony Rizzo did not start Sunday because of back soreness, but said he may be able to return to the Cubs lineup on Tuesday night.
Rizzo felt his back tighten on his first swing in the on-deck circle on Saturday night. He hit into a double play in the first inning, and also drew two walks in the game, which the Cubs won, 2-1, in 11 innings.
"It grabbed on me pretty good and I just had to deal with it the whole game and it gradually got worse," Rizzo said. "This morning, it felt really bad but we worked on it and it's really loosened up. I'm in a lot better place now than I was this morning."
Rookie Victor Caratini made his first start at first base on Sunday and hit his first Major League home run in the Cubs' 4-2 win over the Brewers.

"There's no reason to push him now," Cubs manager Joe Maddon said of Rizzo. "He's smart enough to know not to push it."
The Cubs have an off-day on Monday, which would give Rizzo additional time for rest and treatment.
"The way my body has responded to this in the past has been pretty good," Rizzo said. "Hopefully, [after getting treatement] today and tomorrow, I should be fine."
