June 28th, 2016

CINCINNATI -- The Cubs have seen a great deal of success with their top prospects over the past few years, posting MLB's best record with a roster headlined by several of them.
This year has already seen the promotion of top 20 prospects Willson Contreras and Carl Edwards Jr.
Futures Game rosters and scouting reports
A couple more pieces of the Cubs' future were recognized on June 28, as the 2016 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game rosters were announced. Third baseman Jeimer Candelario and outfielder Eloy Jimenez were both selected to represent the Cubs for the World Team at Petco Park on Sunday.
Candelario, the Cubs' No. 7 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, was called up to the Cubs on July 3, however, and gave up his spot in the game.
Jimenez has taken full advantage of his first season with Class A South Bend, hitting a career-best .332/.372/.527. The 19-year-old is the Cubs' No. 10 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
The Futures Game is played annually leading into the All-Star break between the USA team, comprised of American players, and the World team, comprised of international prospects. The game will be broadcast on MLB Network, MLB.com and SiriusXM's MLB Network Radio at 6 p.m. CT.
