Maddon confident in young Cubs' camaraderie

April 3rd, 2016

ANAHEIM -- Kris Bryant, Addison Russell and Kyle Schwarber all experienced brief struggles during their rookie seasons last year -- and overcame them. Manager Joe Maddon feels the young Cubs will definitely benefit from that experience heading into their sophomore seasons in the big leagues.
"There's still the threat that they're going to go through the moments," Maddon said, "but at least they know how to handle it."
Most of the players in Cubs camp have said they feel as if the 2016 season is just a continuation of last year, when the team won 97 games and reached the National League Championship Series.
"I like that a lot," Maddon said of that attitude. "We picked up where we left off. What they mean is the tightness of the group and the feeling among the group and the fact that we can win, and we are winners."
