August 25th, 2016

ST. LOUIS -- Never known for his arm strength, unleashed one of his strongest throws of the year to nail at the plate in the second inning of Wednesday's 8-1 Mets loss to the Cardinals.
With Grichuk on second base and two outs, sliced a single to right field. Moved from center to right to start that inning after departed due to injury, Granderson fielded the ball and unleashed a 92.1-mph throw home, according to Statcast™, giving catcher just enough time to slap a tag on Grichuk.
It was Granderson's third-fastest throw of the season, and fifth-fastest since Statcast™ began keeping track last year. (His fastest was a 94-mph throw to a cutoff man this April). And it needed to be; Statcast™ also calculated that Grichuk ran from third base to home plate in 3.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 19.7 mph along the way.
The throw kept things tied at 1, until the Cardinals took a 2-1 lead on 's RBI single one inning later.
