LOS ANGELES -- After a weekend being reminded why the Dodgers are running away with the National League West, the D-backs' focus now turns to the next 10 games, when they will play a pair of teams behind them in the NL Wild Card race.

The Dodgers smacked four home runs, including two by Justin Turner, off starter Mike Leake on Sunday afternoon to send the D-backs out of town with a 9-3 loss.

“We’ve got to turn the page,” D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said. “I know I’ve been saying that every time we lose a tough game, but that’s where we’re at right now. We can’t let this linger on against Colorado.”

After winning Friday night’s game, 3-2, in 11 innings, the D-backs' offense fell fairly silent over the final 18 innings of the series. In fact, their only extra-base hits and runs of the series came on Carson Kelly’s two homers Friday night and Eduardo Escobar and Nick Ahmed’s home runs late during Sunday's finale.

The Dodgers' starters were particularly impressive, holding the D-backs scoreless over 20 innings during the series. Sunday, it was Hyun-Jin Ryu’s turn, and he threw seven scoreless.

“They have good starting pitching, it’s no secret. Probably the best in the game,” Ahmed said. “But we’ve got to do a better job in the early innings trying to get on base and do something to start a rally and score early. It’s tough to come back in every game. We’re always going to fight and come back when we can, but when you put yourself in a hole every game, it's tough.”

The D-backs open a three-game series against the Rockies at Coors Field on Monday night. It’s the first of six games against Colorado over the next 10 days, which also includes a four-game home series with the Giants.

It’s a good time to catch the Rockies, who dropped 20 of their first 28 games in the second half of the season. The D-backs can also put some distance between themselves and the Giants, who are closing in on them in the Wild Card race.

“We’ll be ready to go tomorrow,” Ahmed said. “We’ll have forgotten about this one, learned from it and moved on. I’m already reflecting on today and getting ready for tomorrow.”

The Rockies beat the Padres on Sunday, but they are just 9-20 since the All-Star break and they were swept in a three-game series by the D-backs just before the break.

The D-backs are once again at the .500 mark, at 59-59, and they are three games out of the second NL Wild Card spot with three teams -- the Brewers, Mets and Phillies -- ahead of them.

“I’ve been saying it now for several games,” Lovullo said. “The team that gets hot could separate themselves. We know it’s there, we follow the standings. We’re fans. There’s no greater fans than in this clubhouse. We’ve got to go out there and bang it, and take care of our business the way we know how.”

Said Ahmed, “We’re going to try and jump on them just like any team and hopefully come out swinging, score some runs early and help our pitchers to relax a little bit, make them not feel like they have to go out and throw scoreless innings up and down the lineup every time. We’ll be ready to go. Every game is important. Every game counts the same, and we’re going to be ready.”
