PHOENIX -- There is plenty of talent from the D-backs' organization scattered through the roster of the Salt River Rafters, but there is also a name with D-backs ties at the helm of the team.
J.R. House, who serves as manager of the D-backs' Double-A Jackson affiliate, will manage the Rafters during the upcoming Arizona Fall League season.
House's roster will consist of three players who took the field for him with the Generals this season, as well as four other D-backs prospects, one of whom has yet to be named.
The Arizona Fall League, which begins play on Oct. 10, is a "finishing school" for prospects who are close to the Majors. Generally speaking, if a team sends a player to the Fall League, it's an indication that the club thinks he has the chance to contribute in the big leagues in the near future.
2017 Arizona Fall League rosters
The league has a total of six teams, with five organizations represented on each. Every MLB team is required to send at least six players from its organization.
The top-ranked D-backs' prospect on the Rafters roster is Victor Reyes, who is listed by MLBPipeline.com as No. 19 in the organization. The 22-year-old outfielder is hitting .278 with 27 doubles and 15 stolen bases with the Generals.
Jack Reinheimer, a 25-year-old shortstop who played two games for the D-backs this season, is Arizona's No. 25 prospect. Reinheimer is hitting .277 with four homers, 53 RBIs and 12 steals at Triple-A Reno.
Ryan Atkinson, a 24-year-old right-handed pitcher, has thrown at three levels in the organization this season and is 2-2 with a 4.24 ERA in five starts since joining the Generals in late July.
Michael Perez, a 25-year-old catcher who has played 80 games for the Generals this season, will be one of three backstops on the Rafters roster. Perez is hitting .279 with five homers and 23 doubles in 262 at-bats and has thrown out 24 runners for Jackson.

Colin Poche, a 23-year-old left-handed pitcher who was taken in the fourth round by Arizona in 2016, is one of two D-backs pitching prospects who spent much of the year at Class A Advanced Visalia. Poche is 3-1 with a 1.16 ERA in 28 relief appearances across two levels this season.
The other Visalia prospect on the roster is Yoan Lopez, who began the year in rookie ball before joining Visalia on July 2. The 24-year-old right-hander has gone a combined 2-0 with a 0.65 ERA in 19 relief appearances.
"The 30 Major League organizations have assigned an array of promising prospects to the Arizona Fall League as always," AFL director Steve Cobb said. "Approximately 60 percent of them will reach the Major Leagues. Fans can enjoy watching the next big leaguers from the comfort of six of Arizona's state-of-the-art Spring Training stadiums."

Hundreds of future Major League All-Stars have come through the Fall League since its inception, including Mike Piazza, the first AFL alum to get enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. There have been 27 Rookie of the Year Award winners and 16 MVP Award winners who put the finishing touches on their Minor League development in Arizona over the two and a half decades of the league's existence.
The AFL is owned and operated by MLB and plays a Monday-Saturday schedule. The championship game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 18, at Scottsdale Stadium. The 12th Fall Stars Game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4, at Salt River Fields. Game times are 12:35 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. MST, with some noted exceptions in the schedule.
The Fall League's six venues remain Camelback Ranch-Glendale (Glendale Desert Dogs), Peoria Sports Complex (Peoria Javelinas), Salt River Fields (Salt River Rafters), Scottsdale Stadium (Scottsdale Scorpions), Sloan Park (Mesa Solar Sox) and Surprise Stadium (Surprise Saguaros).
