D-backs to open 2018 against familiar foe

September 13th, 2017

PHOENIX -- The D-backs and Rockies will open the 2018 regular season against each other on March 29 at Chase Field. Two days later the teams will mark the 20th anniversary of the first game in D-backs franchise history with a March 31 game. The Rockies were the D-backs' first opponent when the franchise began play in 1998.
Arizona D-backs 2018 schedule
That leaves the D-backs with a rare Sunday off on April 1.
The D-backs will serve as the opponent for the Cardinals' home opener April 5. The three-game series with the Cards is part of a three-city road trip that includes visits to the Giants and Dodgers.
If the D-backs are once again in the postseason hunt, their schedule down the stretch should be advantageous with 15 of their final 25 games coming at home.
For the second consecutive year the D-backs finish the season on the road. In 2018 they will be at San Diego's Petco Park as part of a three-game series with the Padres.
When it comes to Interleague Play, the D-backs will face American League West opponents.
The Astros (May 4-6), Rangers (July 30-31), Angels (Aug. 21-22) and Mariners (Aug. 24-26) will visit Chase Field.
The D-backs will travel to face the A's (May 25-27), Angels (June 18-19), Rangers (Aug. 14-15) and Astros (Sept. 14-16).
The D-backs will be home on Mother's Day (vs. Nationals), Father's Day (vs. Mets), Memorial Day (vs. Reds), Independence Day (vs. Cardinals), Labor Day (vs. Padres) and Cinco de Mayo (vs. Astros).
