Colon, Mets set for favorable Philly matchup

Conforto, Duda could join Bautista, O's Davis in posting strong stats

April 19th, 2016

Welcome to DraftKings fantasy baseball, the Official Daily Fantasy Game of Major League Baseball.
The players listed below could provide difference-making stats for DraftKings participants today.
Michael Saunders: Recently inserted into the leadoff spot, Saunders could reach base often and score multiple runs when he brings his lifetime .702 OPS against right-handers (.645 vs. lefties) into a matchup with righty Ubaldo Jimenez (career 4.01 ERA, 1.36 WHIP). The outfielder could thrive at Camden Yards, which enhances homer totals for left-handed hitters such as Saunders.
:: Fred Zinkie's Daily Picks ::
Jose Bautista: Since the outset of 2010, Bautista has used a patient, powerful approach to build a .267/.390/.559 slash line against right-handers. On Wednesday, the outfielder could drive in multiple runs or rip a round-tripper at the expense of the righty Jimenez (4.11 ERA, 1.36 WHIP in 2015).

Chris Davis: With 131 homers and 337 RBIs since the outset of 2013, Davis has emerged as arguably the top power hitter in baseball. As a left-handed hitter set to possibly get a power boost from Camden Yards, the first baseman could go deep or drive in multiple runs when he brings his lifetime .880 OPS against right-handers (.737 vs. lefties) into a home matchup with Blue Jays righty R.A. Dickey (career 1.1 HR/9 rate).
Jonathan Schoop: With 18 homers across 344 at-bats since the outset of 2015, the second baseman has emerged as one of the best power hitters at his premium position. Schoop could drive in multiple runs when he hits at home against the right-handed Dickey (4.45 FIP in 2015).
Manny Machado: With 39 homers, 113 runs and 20 steals since the outset of 2015, Machado has proven that he can regularly contribute to DraftKings lineups in multiple ways. From his premium lineup spot, the third baseman will be poised to excel when he hits at home vs. the right-handed Dickey (career 4.33 FIP).
Stephen Vogt: With a lifetime .767 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .646 mark vs. lefties, the catcher could thrive when he vacates his pitcher-friendly home park and faces Nathan Eovaldi (career 4.15 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) at Yankee Stadium, which enhances power for left-handed hitters such as Vogt.
Josh Reddick: As a left-handed slugger heading into Yankee Stadium, Reddick will be in prime position to display his power against the righty Eovaldi (4.39 ERA, 1.44 WHIP since the outset of 2015). In his career, Reddick has produced a .776 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .677 mark vs. lefties.

Michael Conforto: Conforto has produced pronounced splits since making his big league debut on July 24, 2015, with an .879 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .594 mark vs. lefties. The outfielder could drive in multiple runs when he faces righty Jeremy Hellickson (career 4.40 FIP) at hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park.
Lucas Duda: The first baseman has long fared best vs. right-handers, against whom he has registered a lifetime .838 OPS (.665 vs. lefties). Duda could drive in multiple runs when he visits Philly's hitter-friendly venue to face the right-handed Hellickson, who has produced a 4.84 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP since the outset of 2013.
Curtis Granderson: Hitting .143 this season, Granderson could have a reduced price tag in DraftKings contests when he brings his lifetime .858 OPS against right-handers (.694 vs. lefties) into a matchup with the righty Hellickson and a Phillies relief corps that lacks reliable options.
Derek Norris: The catcher owns notable career splits, with an .837 OPS against left-handers in comparison to a .640 mark vs. righties. Norris could provide production at a premium position when he faces Pirates southpaw Jeff Locke (lifetime 4.13 ERA, 1.39 WHIP).
Alexei Ramirez: With a lifetime .761 OPS against left-handers (.690 vs. righties), Ramirez has the plate skills to thrive in a matchup with the lefty Locke (4.37 ERA, 1.45 WHIP since the outset of 2015). The shortstop could also swipe a base against Francisco Cervelli, who allowed more steals than any other catcher in 2015.

Jonathan Villar: Villar could reach base often when he brings his lifetime .692 OPS against left-handers (.646 vs. righties) into a contest at his hitter-friendly home park against lefty Tommy Milone (4.27 FIP in 2015). The speedy shortstop could also swipe a base against Kurt Suzuki, who allowed more steals than all but two catchers in 2015.
Bartolo Colon: Colon could be a useful second starter in DraftKings contests when he faces a Phillies lineup that ranks last in the National League with 36 runs scored and includes just one player (Ryan Howard) who exceeded the 15-homer mark last season.
Joe Ross: Ross has the skills to spin a gem when he brings his lifetime 3.15 ERA and 1.06 WHIP into pitcher-friendly Marlins Park to face a Miami lineup that ranks 10th in the National League with 49 runs scored and lacks impact bats in the bottom half of the lineup.

Ross Stripling: With a 2.03 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP since making his big league debut on April 8, 2016, Stripling could be a cost-effective starter in DraftKings contests when he travels to offense-suppressing Turner Field to face a light-hitting Braves lineup. Atlanta does not possess a single player who went deep 20 times in 2015, and the club will work without injured sparkplug Ender Inciarte.
All statistics are accurate through the completion of Monday's games.
