Years before playing at big league ballparks, Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson needed his mother, Nancy, to drive him to Little League fields.
"My mother was there to help me with my homework, take me to all of my games and throw me batting practice or hit me grounders when my dad was not around," Swanson said. "We say she's the best athlete in the family, and she's very competitive. She says she's a teacher because she can make a difference in lives. People that think like that is definitely a rarity. Those things she's done for others means almost as much to me as things she's done for me."
