BALTIMORE -- The Orioles could have some questions about their bullpen answered during this week's All-Star break.
Setup man Darren O'Day, on the disabled list since June 3 with a right hamstring strain, still does not have a timetable for his return. The former All-Star did throw off a flat mound on Saturday, though. He also threw on Sunday.
O's manager Buck Showalter said there's still no official timetable for O'Day's return but said the right-hander will go to Sarasota, Fla., to work during the break and will be with the Orioles for their road series against the Rays.
"Darren is out throwing now," Showalter said before Sunday's finale vs. the Angels. "I haven't heard anything, and that's a good sign."
The Orioles' bullpen still is one of baseball's best, but they've struggled a bit without O'Day the past month. Brad Brach, selected for the American League All-Star team, has stepped up, but the loss of O'Day leaves a big hole.
"We need him back," Showalter said.
The Orioles also have been preparing for the brief departure of Mychal Givens, whose wife is about to give birth. They thought it could happen this weekend, but if his wife has the baby during the next few days, the right-hander might be able to avoid taking paternity leave.
"I don't want to look at it too selfishly here," Showalter said.

Givens threw two shutout innings in relief during Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Angels, notching a scoreless sixth after entering the game with two runners on base and no one out that kept the Orioles in the game. The right-hander also is dealing with conjunctivitis now, an eye issue.
Worth noting
Showalter set his rotation for the first two games of the series in Tampa Bay after the All-Star break. Yovani Gallardo will pitch the first game on Friday and Chris Tillman on Saturday. That gives each pitcher an extra day of rest before their next start.
