Travis to undergo MRI, is day to day
Second baseman was late scratch from Game 2 lineup
ARLINGTON -- Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis was scratched less than an hour before Game 2 of the American League Division Series on Friday afternoon due to irritation in his right knee, and he is slated to undergo an MRI on Saturday.
"It's pain. It hurts," Travis said following Toronto's 5-3 win over Texas. "I want to be optimistic, figure out exactly what's going on."

Travis isn't sure how the injury occurred; he said Thursday was the first day he woke up and felt some serious pain. Before that, there was some smaller, nagging issues, but nothing serious.
"He came in today, and his knee had locked up on him, so they gave him a shot," manager John Gibbons said. "That didn't do the trick, so we're just going to have to go day to day, see how he is tomorrow."
Darwin Barney got the start in Travis' absence, batting ninth; he went 0-for-3. Left fielder Ezequiel Carrera moved from ninth into the leadoff spot, and hit one of the Blue Jays' four homers off Rangers starter Yu Darvish.
"We'll have a little better idea [after the MRI]," Gibbons said of Travis. "Who knows? I don't think it's a big deal, but I think it's important to get a look at it. But that was a last-second thing."
Travis missed two games at the end of September because of injury, but that was soreness in his right shoulder. This appears to be the first time he has dealt with a knee issue during his time with Toronto.
