Lamet improves to 5-1 for Lake Elsinore

Lockett, Gettys pace Fort Wayne win

Right-handed starting pitchers Dinelson Lamet and Walker Lockett led the Padres' Class A affiliates to wins Tuesday night.
Lamet, 23, allowed four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over six innings as Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore (14-18) scored a 6-1 California League victory over Inland Empire at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore. Lamet improved to 5-1 on the season while lowering his ERA to 1.18.
Lockett, 21, allowed one run on four hits with four strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings as Class A Fort Wayne (18-13) scored a 2-1 win over Great Lakes in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader at Fort Wayne. The second game was rained out and will be made up as part of a doubleheader Wednesday.
Right fielder Franmil Reyes (.193) hit a two-run homer for Lake Elsinore. Second baseman Luis Urias (.290) was 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Left fielder Edwin Moreno (.248) was 2-for-4
Left-handed reliever Taylor Cox (0.00 ERA) followed Lamet and allowed a hit in a scoreless inning. Right-hander T.J. Weir (1.80) allowed an unearned run on two walks and two strikeouts in an inning. Left-hander Jose Torres (2.35) pitched a perfect ninth.
Right-hander Trey Wingenter (1-0, 0.00 ERA) followed Lockett and allowed a hit with three strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings to pick up the win after blowing the save.
Center fielder Michael Gettys (.265) was 2-for-3 with a RBI for Fort Wayne. Second baseman Peter Van Gansen (.263) was 1-for-3 and singled home the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.
Right-handed starter Brett Kennedy (2-1, 2.54 ERA) was promoted from Fort Wayne to Lake Elsinore while right-hander Phil Maton was activated from the TinCaps' seven-day disabled list. Infielder River Stevens was promoted from Lake Elsinore to Double-A San Antonio.

Starting RHP Carlos Pimental (2-2, 6.19 ERA) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six innings. RHP Tayron Guerrero (3.72) allowed a hit with two strikeouts in an inning. RHP Seth Rosin (3.86) allowed a run on a hit with a strikeout in an inning.
DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (10-22): CORPUS CHRISTI 5, Missions 3. LF Nick Torres (.250) hit a two-run homer in five at-bats. RF Nick Schulz (.297) was 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and a RBI. Starting RHP Bryce Morrow (0-4, 6.55 ERA) allowed four runs on seven hits with five strikeouts in six innings. LHP Brandon Alger (9.49) allowed a run on two hits with a strikeout in an inning. RHP Kyle Lloyd (3.63) struck out one in a perfect inning.
