LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers activated pitcher from the 15-day disabled list on Friday and recalled infielder from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Kazmir last pitched Aug. 22 in Cincinnati, but left the game with a thoracic neck injury. He is in a tryout to be the fourth starter in the postseason. Taylor, acquired from Seattle for pitcher , is in his third stint with the Dodgers this season.
With the moves, the club has 39 active players and manager Dave Roberts said would make it a full clubhouse of 40 when he is expected to be activated off the 15-day disabled list on Saturday.
McCarthy has been out since Aug. 14 with right hip stiffness that coincided with extreme wildness. McCarthy made only eight starts this year after returning from last year's Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery.
Roberts said McCarthy's role was undetermined, although he will likely get a start once the Dodgers' postseason situation is clarified.
