Deacon Liput, a 29th-round pick by the Dodgers, hit a three-run homer to propel No. 3 Florida to a 5-1 win over No. 7 Louisville in the College World Series on Tuesday. The win sent the Gators to the winners' bracket final, set for Friday.

Liput, a second baseman, cranked a three-run shot off Louisville starter and White Sox sixth-round selection Kade McClure in the fourth inning to give the Gators a 4-0 lead. Florida starter Brady Singer made it stick with seven innings of one-run ball, striking out nine, to send Louisville to an elimination game.

Game 7: TCU 4, Texas A&M 1

A's eighth-round pick Brian Howard helped keep the Horned Frogs' season alive with seven dominant innings against the Aggies. Howard earned his 12th win of the season, striking out 12 and allowing just one run on five hits, with no walks.

White Sox seventh-round pick Evan Skoug and Marlins 32nd-rounder Elliott Barzilli combined to drive in and score three of TCU's four runs, all of which came off Aggies starter Stephen Kolek (2 2/3 innings, four runs).

Mets 32nd-rounder Kaylor Chafin tossed 5 1/3 innings of shutout relief, but the Aggies couldn't come back against Howard or reliever Sean Wymer, who earned a six-out save.

What's next

Florida is on to the winners' bracket final, where it will play the winner of the TCU-Louisville game Thursday. The winner of that game will need to beat Florida twice to earn a spot in the CWS final.

Wednesday's action pins Florida State against LSU in the other bracket's elimination game, set for 7 p.m. ET. The winner of that game earns a chance to play No. 1 Oregon State, which it will need to beat twice to advance.
