Monday night in San Francisco marked the third time in his last four starts than left-hander Drew Pomeranz didn't allow a run.
Over his last four outings, Pomeranz has allowed two runs on 10 hits and 12 walks with 24 strikeouts in 24 innings. That's an ERA of 0.75. Over the run, Pomeranz has allowed 0.92 baserunners per inning.
Overall, Pomeranz now ranks third in the National League with a 1.70 ERA. The two pitchers ahead of him are Jake Arieta and Clayton Kershaw.
The Padres acquired the 27-year-old Pomeranz and left-handed prospect Jose Torres from Oakland last Dec. 2 for first baseman Yonder Alonzo and left-handed reliever Mark Rzepczynski. Alonso is hitting .220 for the A's. Rzepczynski has a 3.52 ERA in 21 appearances.
The previous time the Padres negotiated a trade with Oakland for a pitcher was Nov. 1, 2012, when they acquired right-hander Tyson Ross from the A's in exchange for left-handed pitcher Andrew Werner and utility infielder Andy Parrino.
