NEW YORK -- Red Sox left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez continued his progression from his right knee injury with a third rehab start for Triple-A Pawtucket on Sunday, yielding six hits and three runs over 5 2/3 innings while stretching out to 93 pitches. Will his next start be for Boston?
"Wouldn't rule it out," said Red Sox manager John Farrell. "I think in fairness to all, we'll sit down and get together tomorrow."
Rodriguez gave up two homers, but the knee felt healthy.
"I felt fine with everything -- changeup, fastball, curveball, everything feels good," Rodriguez told reporters in Pawtucket. "I feel like all of my pitches, all of my mechanics, everything feels ready to go."
Rodriguez suffered a patella subluxation of his right knee on Feb. 27.
"It's a little bit hard to be on the rehab and see everybody playing and you want to play, but you can't," Rodriguez said.
Farrell got a positive report on Rodriguez's outing.
"By all accounts, he was more trusting of the knee when he was landing and delivering the pitches," Farrell said. "There was a slight uptick in velocity, which we would hope or expect as he gets more innings under his belt."
