Hunter Renfroe continued his assault on Pacific Coast League pitchers Monday night with two doubles and his 26th home run in El Paso's 10-7 loss at Las Vegas.
But the right fielder was not the only hitter in the Padres Minor League system Monday.
A total of eight homers were hit, including two by Otay Ranch High grad Fernando Perez with Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore. Left fielder Edwin Moreno and third baseman Ty France also homered for the Storm.
Center fielder Franchy Cordero had four hits including his fifth homer for Double-A San Antonio, where right fielder Nick Schulz and catcher Rocky Gale each had a homer during a three-hit game.
There was more movement in the Padres system Monday.
Most notably, right-handed pitcher Luis Castillo came off the San Antonio roster as the Padres returned him to Miami in the Colin Rea trade.
Most of the day's moves involved low Single-A Fort Wayne and short-season Single-A Tri-City.
Right-handed relievers Braxton Lorenzini, Jesse Scholtens and Will Stillman were transferred from Tri-City to Fort Wayne. Left-handers Thomas Dorminy and Jose Castillo and right-hander Corey Kimber went from Fort Wayne to Tri-City.
