Slugger has 11 homers this month; MLB record is 16

ARLINGTON -- Miss an at-bat and you risk missing 's torrid march towards making home run history.
On Monday, the four-time All-Star turned in his fourth multi-home run game of July, leading the Marlins to a 4-0 win over the Rangers at Globe Life Park.
Stanton's first-inning home run, according to Statcast™, was projected at 429 feet with an exit velocity of 110 mph and a launch angle of 24 degrees. It was his 17th homer with an exit speed of at least 110 mph, matching Yankees slugger for the most in the Majors with 32.

Stanton's second homer was an opposite-field liner that Statcast™ had at 384 feet with an exit velocity of 105.7 mph and a launch angle of 26 degrees. The hulking right fielder has now homered in 26 different parks against 25 big league clubs. The list includes a blast against the Mets at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in Puerto Rico, plus Atlanta's Turner Field and the Marlins' old home.
"I do want to homer in all ballparks," Stanton said. "I remember watching a game when I was little and Barry [Bonds], I don't know which park it was, but he finally got his last one. I thought last night that I needed to get one."
Along with matching Judge with the most homers in the Majors, Stanton made the defensive play of the game, as well. In the third inning, from right field, Stanton threw out trying to stretch a single to a double.

"I've been kind of non-existent on defense this year," said Stanton, who has had three outfield assists in the last two games. "It was good to get that one. That could have put them in a good spot to score some runs."
Texas challenged the call, and after a replay review, the ruling was the call stands. It was a critical out because instead of having second and third with one out, Texas had a runner on third with two outs. 's next pitch retired , who lifted a fly ball to left field.
Miami grabbed a two-run lead in the first inning on Stanton's two-run homer to left off . His second homer came in the eighth inning, a solo shot off .

"You let him get extension, we know he can hit you hard," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "Giancarlo is a remarkable talent. He can fire that barrel through the zone."
Stanton padded his Marlins' record for home runs in July to 11. The club mark for homers in any month is 12, done three times previously. Stanton had 12 in June 2015 and May '12. Dan Uggla also had 12 in May '08.

The MLB record for homers in July is 16, by Albert Belle 1998 and Mark McGwire in '99.
Stanton has seven multi-homer games on the season and 25 in his career. Next on the Marlins' multi-homer list is , far off the pace with 12. The MLB record in a season is 11, accomplished by Hall of Famer Hank Greenberg in 1938 and Sammy Sosa in 1998.
"Obviously, Big G in the last few days, he's got three putouts in the last two days," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "We see him hit two balls out of the ballpark both sides of the field. He's making big plays in the outfield, so really good."
